New York, NY - Investorside, the trade organization for the U.S. independent research industry, recently appointed industry veteran, Mr. Patrick Shea as the organization's new Executive Director.

Mr. Shea's mandate at Investorside is twofold.  First, the organization is working to legitimize the independent research industry and to promote Investorside as the representative trade organization to the members' clients, legislative bodies, regulatory bodies and financial services firms.

Second, Mr. Shea is looking to promote Investorside, its members and what the organization stands for to their collective client base, building upon all the strong work its members perform.  It is hoped that over time, Investorside, can be a strong conduit linking clients to the independent research industry.

Mr. Shea was was involved with Investorside from its founding, and he has continued to be involved with independent research, most recently with CFRA.  Pat is well versed in the issues we all deal with from regulatory to collection/payment issues to client/relationship issues.

Prior to Pat's appointment as the new Executive Director of Investorside, he was the CEO/President of MarketPicture, a consulting practice to financial service and asset management organizations.  With over 30 years of Wall Street experience, Pat held management positions with Smith Barney, Kidder Peabody, UBS/PaineWebber and Independent Research firm, Precursor. 

While at Precursor, Mr. Shea headed up sales & marketing, trading & operations, compliance and technology.  In less than four years of operation Precursor attained the industry's most prestigious ratings: #1 Institutional Investor Research Boutique in Telecom and #3 in Technology Research. 

Pat is a  graduate (B.B.A. Accounting) of the University of South Florida-Tampa and holds NASD Series 7, 9, 10, 24, 27, 55, 63, and 65 securities licenses and was formerly a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA).
